Hollywood Squares Partner Talk

This drill works on reactions to auditory cues and peripheral vision processing. Set up a box to the directed size, usually 5-7y on each side. One partner goes to the center of the box facing away from the other partner. The person outside the box shouts directions to 3-5 cones and the person inside the box reacts, running to each cone in turn. At the end, the partner outside the box can say "left shoulder" "right shoulder" or "up" to give instructions on where they're throwing the disc. When running in the box, think about your partner as being a teammate in a zone or on the sideline, and they're directing you to cover the different threatening spaces on the field. Spot the cone in each new direction you're moving to (safely entering spaces on the field) and stay low in your athletic position.
