O/D Zig Zag

We use this drill for ultimate to practice defensive footwork after activating lateral movements and practicing bail running. These cones are ~10y apart in a zig zag. It’s best if the offense runs at 70% through the cones so the defender can practice the movements at each change of direction. After the final cone, the offender gets to make a move and cuts deep or under. If you have another buddy, add a disc! In the first part, Coach Bert defends the unders space; in the second, she tries to protect the deep space. You can do this alone by setting up cones and running through the patterns, but it's definitely best if you practice with another person to work on progressively tightening your coverage.
