Error Correction Progression

This works on footwork to correct and catch up to an offender when you’re playing defense in a field sport (like ultimate!) and have over-committed to a path. Executing a hip turn to “pop out” is more explosive and/or easier on your joints than other options like running all the way around in a circle or driving off the over-committed leg! - Imagine in this video the force is forehand with the thrower to the right of the frame and the endzone to the left - Athlete shown is on defense, and commits too heavily to the open-side under, and has to correct and follow their matchup deep - Start practicing slowly; think “step, hip turn, drive drive drive” - Progress to taking a faster step into the motion - Finally, take a few jogging or running steps in; practice with a partner on offense if you have one!
